Shepshed Town Cricket Club
Hello Gentlemen, in a few short weeks we as players will begin a fresh season in uncharted waters. The club has changed significantly with the appointment of new chairman Greg Williamson. We as players are expected to perform, prepare and develop with attitudes that promote motivation, professional commitment and teamwork.

This rally call should relate to every player that puts on the new Shepshed Town CC shirt this season, regardless of which team you’re in or how old you are.

We need to be proactive and positive so make it your goal to deliver the goods on a regular basis.  Make it your goal to be the teams best player, make it your goal to move up a team. Be ambitious, driven and make a difference.

I do not want to be carrying anybody this season. The club simply will not tolerate players coming along for a day out. The only way you will succeed is by you being prepared for each game to the best of your ability. So practice hard and regularly and make that impact that the club needs.

The 1st team start life for the first time in a very competitive 1st division. The second team MUST get out of division 5. The 3rd and 4th team should have strong squads and are expected to win more games than they lose. The newly formed fifth team is a platform, stepping stones to a bright future, so if you end up in the fifth team, approach each game professionally and take each game seriously. It’s the best way of learning new skills.

Good luck to you all, I can’t wait to see you all performing well and winning the club cricket matches. Make it your personal mission to make a big impact throughout the season.

See you on the field in April.

Daniel Brown
